The Herb Society recognises the enormous effort and dedication which is required to train as a  professional medical herbalist and therefore provides new UK medical-herbalist graduates with one year's free membership to the Society.

This Award was made at the request of the late John Meade, 7th Earl of Clanwilliam, former Patron of the Herb Society, in memory of his late mother, Lady Meade-Fetherstonhaugh (1888-1977) who was a staunch supporter of Herbal Medicine.

The picture shows Lady Meade (left) during a visit of the Queen Mother to 21 Bruton Street in the 1970s.
