Welcome and Introductions – John Baylis, Chairman of The Herb Society

10.30 am

Talk on the history and medical aspects of herbs – "The Healing Power of Plants" – by Timothy Walker, Director of the Oxford Botanic Garden

11.30 am

Demonstration by Sophie Grigson, President of The Herb Society – a selection of herbie recipes

12.30 pm

LUNCH – Herbie Dishes.  See the menu.

1.30 pm –

  • Free time for delegates
  • Visit outdoor stalls set up by suppliers of herbs, cosmetics, candles, etc

Talk by Rosie Atkins, Curator of the Chelsea Physic Garden – on "London’s Oldest Outdoor Classroom"

Demonstration on herbie snacks, scones and pastries by Mike Cullen, "The Gardening Chef" of Cullenary Herbs, Derbyshire

4.00 pm

Vote of thanks – John Meade, Earl of Clanwilliam, Patron of The Herb Society

Afternoon Tea – including herbie snacks
