From Cath McGregor – Heart of Scotland Herb Society based in Perthshire

Heart of Scotland Herb Society was formed in 1999 and now has approximately 70 members. Regular monthly meetings are arranged from October to May, followed by a summer outing to an event or venue of special interest.

The Society is centered on the pleasant market town of Aberfeldy in Highland Perthshire. Our members come from a wide surrounding area. We are always delighted to welcome visitors to the area to any of our meetings. Please check the diary below for details. For further information visit our web site at www.hshs.org.uk.

The Scottish Plant Collector's Garden

next to Pitlochry Festival Theatre, Perthshire

Some years ago our society visited this garden with Nick Dawson the Project Manager.  Then, the land was being cleared of dead wood and Rhododendron Ponticum.

We were so impressed with Nick's vision for the garden and enthusiasm we decided to make a contribution to the garden. To raise funds we sold a Herb Cookery book, and with the proceeds managed to commission the Foxglove Garden Sculpture which is located near to the entrance to the garden.  We expect the copper to weather gently to green with time.

We also have a small area of the garden at the entrance which we planted and maintain.
