The Herbmonger - St John's Wort
As June the 24th is St John's Day it's apt that this months 'The Herbmonger' article focuses on St John's Wort and shows you how to make infused Hypericum oil. There are also some book recommendations to discover more about this fascinating and useful herb.
Herb Gardening History
Herb Society members who remember the very first incarnation of the HS website, may recall some interesting articles that were once on there written by Herb Society member Anthony Lyman-Dixon? Anthony is the owner of Arne Herbs, and has studied the history and folklore of plants and written numerous articles and lectured about the myths and realities of plants.
Those that remember may be interested to learn that two of Anthony's articles have been revamped and re-uploaded. Were Monks Really Gardeners? and also Geometric Gardening Traditions. In the not too distant future Anthony's article on the Old Operating Theatre & Herb Garret will be added to the site, along with a brand new article by Anthony about herbal medicine in the dark ages.
